Families > Travel Information & Forms

General Travel Information and
Vacation Travel

All travel arrangements must be cleared through parents or guardians before a student may leave campus. Travel forms are due 10 days before vacation begins, even if you are picking your child up from school. If your child misses travel arrangements, you will be responsible for making alternate plans.

Students will NOT be permitted to miss any school commitments for travel purposes. If a commitment would be missed to catch earlier flights, buses or trains, etc., then the student must travel later or the next day. Any exceptions MUST be cleared through the Dean of Students. A student must receive permission from the Director of Studies or Dean of Students if extenuating circumstances require a student to miss an academic commitment.

TRAVEL MONEY

Adequate travel money should be provided. Fares and spending money should be clearly noted on the travel form with specific dollar amounts. Any money withdrawn from the student's account must have prior approval from the parent or guardian. Please be sure that your child's account has sufficient funds to cover expenses.

DARROW TRANSPORTATION

Darrow transportation is NOT always available. But when available, the cost will be per student. A list a fares for Darrow transportation and taxi service is included with this information. Students will be grouped with other students with similar itineraries.  Occasionally, your child may have to arrive early at his or her departing location depending on the transportation schedule. Darrow transportation will be available when possible.  When it is not possible, taxi service will be used.

RETURNING TO SCHOOL

Students must return to school by 7:00 p.m. on the last day of vacation. Plans must be made carefully to ensure your child will have adequate time to make transportation connections. Upon return to school, students must check in with the AOD or the Dean of Students regardless of when they arrive on campus. Failure to check in with the AOD or Dean may result in disciplinary action. If a student's return is to be delayed for any reason, the School must be notified by contacting the AOD on the scheduled day of return.  Students who fail to return on time must report to the AOD or Dean of Students upon their return. If a student is planning to leave school early or return late, express written permission must be given by the Director of Studies and the Dean of Students. If a student departs early or returns late from vacation, it may result in disciplinary action.
