Heyniger Memorial Library

The Heyniger Memorial Library is housed in the original Mt. Lebanon Shaker Village Second Meeting House, an icon of the Shaker world. There, we maintain a collection of approximately 11,000 holdings, which include extensive multimedia resources including audio books, videos, DVDs and CDs.
The Heyniger Memorial Library subscribes to 30 general and scholarly periodicals as well as five daily newspapers. Additionally, the library subscribes to 21 general and specific electronic databases including encyclopedias, Spanish-language materials, literature, newspapers and periodicals which provide access to thousands of searchable periodicals and reference works. The library is fully automated using Sagebrush’s Winnebago CIRC/CAT, available on all campus computers, as are all on-line subscription resources.
We maintain a special collection of Shaker materials to enhance and reflect the history and unique buildings of our campus.
The Heyniger Memorial Library, staffed by a full-time librarian, who is fully engaged with the curriculum needs of individual classes, is a resource for students and faculty in a number of ways. Our library can accommodate the singular student looking for private study, small collaborative study groups, or whole classes.
